Why Logical Lifestyle?

Our time is precious, so thank you for carving out some of yours and visiting my blog. So why ‘Logical Lifestyle’? Why ‘let’s live logically’? A friend of mine asked me that a few months back. “From what you’ve been telling me about fasting and natural health it seems you’re implying that it should be common knowledge that we all know and can apply.” He made an interesting point. Something that I didn’t really think about or consider.

Forewarning: I may go on a little rant here 🙂

During my journey the name just made sense to me. I told my friend that through my experience and studies if only we could just take a step back and open our eyes, then this lifestyle would be the most obvious choice and way to live and get healthy. Everything just made too much sense. Health should be the norm, not sickness. You ever have that feeling where you just know it’s right, and there’s no way to explain it? That was the feeling I had when I discovered this way of living. I felt it in my heart, and that’s all that I needed. However, telling the average person that you know it in your heart to be right and true could end up with them laughing you out of the room. That’s fine. I’ve grown to care less what people think, and that’s a hard thing to overcome. It’s liberating when you can find that ground.

We have to understand that our bodies are self-healing and self-regulating. All we need to do is get out of its way when it needs to heal and provide the support it requires. Where does logic fit into all this? Well, when animals are sick in nature they don’t eat, and they make attempts at purging themselves. As for nutrition, all animals have anatomical characteristics that tell them what they should be eating. Our digestive system is most similar to that of frugivores and other plant eating wildlife.

We are meant to be eating predominantly fruits, as well as vegetables. It’s just an anthropological fact. Most people don’t like to hear that, and that’s fine. It’s your body to do with what you choose. Listen to it. Just remember that we only get this body once. We can’t trade it for another. It’s up to the individual on whether they want to invest in it.

When we look into natural and holistic resources to get back to the equilibrium of good health the answers just seem so clear and obvious. Like it was staring us in the face before. It gives the good kind of hope. It gives us the confidence to realize we are in control. You mean that by changing what I consume, exercising, getting sound sleep, and sunshine will help me get healthy again? It reminds me of one of my favorite quotes by Ralph Waldo Emerson, “Society is always taken by surprise at any new example of common sense.” The information is out there for all of us. We just have to look for it or even just remember it. We got this.

I always like talking to like-minded individuals, because you can hear the passion and excitement in their voices when speaking about their specific craft or interest. This is my interest. My life changed after my first detox, and now all I want to do is share the message with others. I was at the lowest of lows when I first started on this journey. Drinking and self-medicating with pharmaceuticals daily, smoking, binge eating, my health in shambles, motivation and drive at an all-time low, neglecting relationships, and obviously depression.

Then I did my first fast, and the lightbulb went off. I knew this was the answer and that my life would be forever changed. It was so obvious. Our bodies are magnificent. We have no idea how powerful and strong that we all are. I don’t believe modern science has even scratched the surface of human potential and capabilities. People like Dr. Joe Dispenza, Gregg Braden, and Bruce Lipton are trying hard to bring the powers of the brain and heart to the mainstream, and that’s amazing to see. We also have people trying to bring the power of fasting and living foods to the mainstream as well, but this one is having trouble getting its legs.

After my first fast it opened a whole new world to me. It’s like I could finally see. It allowed me to question things and find my own answers. I learned more in the past two years than I have in my entire life, and I want to keep learning. It allowed me to look at two options and make a logical decision on which to choose. It allowed me to ask my body how it felt and listen to it. I know that we can heal. If we assume we can heal, then healing can happen. Think about scraping your knee as a kid. Your parent puts a bandaid on it and says everything will be ok in a few days. Then we scamper off and just assume they’re right. Then boom, we have a fresh knee. Why can’t that apply to other things? More serious things. If we have the right mindset, give the body its rest, and provide it the nutrition it needs, then we stand a better chance at overcoming health concerns than just taking medication, which only treats the symptom and not the root cause.

I think about how exhausted I would be after a large poorly selected meal vs. when I have juices, fruit, or a properly combined meal, and it’s night and day. Our body requires energy to process food, so, logically speaking, if we eat fewer times in the day, while meeting our caloric needs, then we should have more energy. On top of that, if we eat a properly combined meal that applies basic chemistry, we will have even more energy. Whether that is for exercise, going to work, or if we need to heal.

So why Logical Lifestyle? Well, when you’ve made the complete 180 that I have in the past 2 years, then this lifestyle becomes the only answer. We have the power. We have control over our bodies. Nobody can eat, sleep, exercise, get sunshine, decompress and destress, be positive, and have nurturing relationships for you. Only you can do that. We hold the keys.

And if you’re concerned about what other people think about you, don’t worry, they’ll think about something else tomorrow. I promise you that nobody thinks about you more than you do. Just speak your truth, and live your truth. Do that, and nobody can use it against you. Step outside yourself every once in a while, and view the situation in the third person. Does this actually make sense to do? Is this adding stress or subtracting stress? Am I truly listening to my body and not rationalizing? And this isn’t only about food choices. There are many facets to good health, but food is one of them. It doesn’t mean you can’t indulge. The ‘moderation’ word gets thrown around a lot, and that’s a tricky one. Moderation is relative. What does moderation mean to you? Do you want to treat your body like the Rolls Royce it is and has the potential to be or a rental car?

The choice is yours. Don’t leave it up to someone else. Time to use the wonderful organ that lies between our ears and think. We GOT this.
